SplitMaster Basic System---
***********************************
We are satisfied with this past week's results in the Basic System. We have 6 plays currently active and 5 of them are ahead at this point. The only loser is down a mere 4 cents. NBL will be closed out next week and up to now it is nicely ahead. We have had 9 splitters close out so far this month and have a net gain thru the end of this week. We continue to easily beat the major indexes (DOW, NAS, S&P) by double and triple digits

Big Dipper System---
************************
Whle we have no current plays active, we do have 8 potential plays going. They have not hit our targeted buy price, with VAL being the closest. Remember that there are logically more Big Dipper plays when the market is declining, so the fact that there aren't any speaks well for the market. There may be some downgrading or negative news on one of our plays that could drop the stock price, so we keep a close tab on them.

Options---
**************
We have closed out 11 call options and 8 put options. The calls are recovering nicely from the negative time of August and we are ahead for the month. The puts, tho, continue to lead the way in percentage gains, being up 47% for this month alone. NBL, which is closing out this next week is showing an excellent profit at week's end. The call is up 53% and the put is ahead 65%.

S+P Options---
******************
There are no plays currently, but we feel we are getting close.

Chart Indicator---
*********************
The Indicator is a non-confirmed neutral at this point, still being in the negative column. The Nas was down 3 days and up 2 days this week (up Mon.& Fri.) and changed less than 1%. Splitmaster usually does very well in a sideways market.

Stock Split Comments---
********************************
There has been an expected slowdown in the number of stock split announcements. That should help team members in calculating how much to invest in upcoming splits. For September we have 1 more coming in the Basic System. There are 4 new Big Dipper potentials that will come on board during Sept. (Some splitters do not qualify for the Basic, but do for the Big Dipper.) So far, we have 4 new Basic splitters with Buy Dates in October.

Tip of the Week---
*************************
Take a look at the Industry section of Yahoo Finance. It shows the hot and cold industries. Match them up against stocks in your portfolio and also compare with our splitters. This is a good indicator to track.

Economy---
*****************
Current rebuilding of the area hit by Hurricane Katrina continues to increase. The head of FEMA was first removed from this project, and then he resigned. His replacement has a background of many years in working in emergencies. We are waiting to see if the Fed will hold off on another increase in interest rates due to the hurricane. On the oil/gas front we are hearing more about why there needs to be more refineries. The weekly inventory report was as we predicted. There is an ample supply of oil, and refined gas supplies went down--BUT--the demand was down drastically in this lastest reporting period. You can't have those horrendous price increases without cutting into demand. To the negative, tho, while oil prices have fallen to the lower 1/2 of the $60's, the price of gas has dropped rather insignificantly. The oil companies had better be concerned that the public does not get used to this drastic cut in use---because if the public does that, there will be some moaning and groaning from that industry.
