Highlight of this past week

GPN was a very exciting 110% winner when it closed the CALL and a 73% profit maker on the PUT, while the stock was a strong 7 point winner---Remember, all our plays are less than a month long.

As you can see by the stats above, we had another good month at SplitMaster.com. While the 3 major indexes were down for October, we showed good gains in the Basic plays, with an Annualized Rate of Return of 53.02%. We still have 5 active plays on the board.

With 2 more Big Dippers closing out this past week, it was nice to see (as expected) that both were winners. RYN and ZNT were over 6% winners. With Nov. in play, we see that we have had 8 straight months of gains in this system. Be sure to see the options results on RYN.

We knock on wood when we continue to have results like these. No, we don't want to jinx the system. GPN and RYN had options close out this past week, while there were no options on ZNT, doggone it (we hate to see winners on stock, but there are no options) GPN came in with that 110% gain on the calls and 73% (out of a max 100%) win on the puts. RYN was not that far behind, with a gain on the CALLs of 91%. We did not play the put side on RYN. The year-to-date returns on the options are for real, and you know it, because you see it when we do it--every single play, win or lose. Those figures are showing profits of 414% on the calls and 545% on the puts, thru this date. Team members are having a good time on these--those that are in the Option plays, anyway.

I just love this type of quandry--stay in or get out. The 2 PUTs that we wrote are each showing (based on the bid price) present gains of 91% on the plays. We wrote the Nov. 1065 and the Nov. 1085 PUTs just 2 weeks ago. The bids on each are 15 cents on the 1068 and 20 cents on the 1085. Some people say "Why not take the 91% gain and run?", while others say "Why pay the commission, with a little less than 2 weeks to expiration and we are so far away from the S+P price of 1220 on 11/4?" A bird in the hand vs 2 in the bush--that sort of thinking. Give me more decisions to make, just like this---

The Indicator did confirm that we are back into a Positive Mode on this intermediate indicator. Our short term indicatorwent positive a bit earlier, but it definitely makes us smile to see both in that Positive position.

We have 2 new splitters coming to Buy Date this coming week, so Team Members, check your calendars. I still think we will have more split announcements coming, because earnings reports were good, even tho some of them made warnings about the next quarter.

We stopped paper trading and actually went into a trade on one of our new systems. This system centers around ratio credit spreads That means we start out the opening trade with a credit in our account. It can lose, but the theory is that if we deal in splitters, we believe the stock will go up. You can make a profit up or down "X" points. Tony and I both went into FAST and we closed it out in just under 1 week. From open to close, we both made a good return even tho we each sold one day apart. I guess I got a little greedy and went for a higher price--and got it.

Our other new system is a Pattern/Period plan. I mentioned it before when discussing TGT, COST and WMT. This system is based on certain stocks that make a move every year starting in 2001 thru now. All 3 of the above did well, reaching their goals. Their period is past, but you might want to mark them down for next year at varying times starting in Oct. I went off the paper-trade method on this one, too, and am presently in EBAY and BBY, both past splitters. There are a few others that look interesting that we have marked down and are following---again with different buy and sell dates, but in play now. See if CAT, AET and GPS go up from here. They are already up from their buy date, but not a whole lot,yet. If you have any favorites where you noticed that they seem to go up (or down) the same time each year, let me know and I will analyze them. INTC, AMD and DOW are on my "To Do List".

When earnings are going to be announced and you don't know which direction the results will point, this might be a tip for you. Team member Stan pointed this out to us, by the way. If you watch CNBC and they mention that "ABC Corp" is going to release their earnings tomorrow and CNBC is having an interview with the CEO, also tomorrow----guess what? Do you think the CEO is going to come on and be grilled if the earnings are not good? Case in point, this past week---GAPs CEO declined to be interviewed. Same store sales were released (not earnings, but still a pretty good indicator) and they dropped--again-- marking 12 straight months of disappointing results. ---Stan noticed that when the CEO agrees to the interview, the results are good. All I care is that November rolled around, finally, and we have been saying for a long time that November starts the period of good months for the markets. They had a roaring week--with Nas jumping the gun a bit, with very strong gains on the last 2 days of October (and Nas was still down for the month of October). There was a mention on the news about the week's results for Nas being the largest weekly gain in a long time. (I forget the period they mentioned.)

"Its been a while since I've written you, so I thought I would update you. My account is up 44% for the year and my golf game has never been better. Last year, I was up 42%, but I have already topped that this year with two more months to go!!! As always, I am extremely grateful for your program.

Lets not forget my golf game!! Up until 2 weeks ago, I had only broken 80 one time in my life. But two weeks ago, I broke 80 on Saturday and Sunday!!! If I could just go down another 10 strokes I could join the senior tour!! (lol) I would of course have Splitmaster as my sponsor"!!!

The "Last Month's Detail" has a listing of all the Basic individual splitters and their results. When next month rolls around, that page will be replaced with November results, so this is a time to make a copy of October's list. Do this each month and you will have an exact list for yourself to use, browse, etc.
